Total · Over or Under
Measured against the league-average total, about 9.0 runs this season — not a sportsbook line. Under wins if the two clubs combine for fewer runs than that; Over wins if they score more.
Starter edge
Names the pitcher and the club he faces. Measured on the opponent's runs, not the final: 3 or fewer wins, 4 or more loses.
FIP— ERA from strikeouts, walks, homers only. Elite, Strong, Average and Weak rate each starter's FIP against the league. When a game has both a total lean and a starter edge, the total is the call and the edge is listed under “Why” — it is never a second play.
