Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cleveland Browns: Predictions & Best Bets
Cleveland is down two interior linemen against the nastiest front in the division, so Kasey is taking the lowest total on the board and four more ways to bet the same thesis.

Welcome to Thursday Night Football.
And if you're looking for an offensive explosion tonight...
You might want to find something else to watch.
PITTSBURGH STEELERS @
CLEVELAND BROWNS
Thursday, October 1 | 5:15 PM PT | Prime Video
Line: Steelers -2.5 | O/U: 38.5
The Pittsburgh Steelers head to Cleveland for an AFC North matchup between two 2-1 teams, with Pittsburgh entering as a 2.5-point road favorite and the total sitting at just 38.5 — the lowest total on the board.
And honestly?
Even 38.5 might be asking a lot.
This entire game comes down to one matchup.
CAN CLEVELAND'S OFFENSIVE LINE SURVIVE?
The Browns will be without center Elgton Jenkins, while guard Teven Jenkins remains sidelined.
That's a nightmare scenario against Pittsburgh.
T.J. Watt.
Alex Highsmith.
Cam Heyward.
And a Steelers defense that already has eight sacks and 17 quarterback hits through three games.
Everything I'm betting tonight comes back to that matchup.
So rather than pretending I have five completely independent bets...
I basically have one bet in five different forms.
I think Pittsburgh wins up front.
And if I'm right?
Here's how we attack Thursday Night Football.
KASEY'S FIVE BEST BETS
1. UNDER 38.5 — BEST BET OF THE NIGHT
Let's start with the obvious one.
I don't know who's scoring the points tonight.
Pittsburgh's offense ranks 30th of 32 in EPA per play.
Cleveland is averaging just 3.76 yards per carry and was already allowing a 9.7% sack rate before losing another major piece of its offensive line.
The Browns haven't scored 24 points in seven straight games.
They haven't produced a 100-yard rusher in 15.
And through three games?
Pittsburgh is averaging 17.7 points per game.
Cleveland is averaging 18.0.
Do the math.
That's 35.7 combined points per game.
Now put them on a short week.
Put Cleveland's compromised offensive line against Pittsburgh's pass rush.
Throw in wind gusting to 16 mph off the lake.
And give me the lowest total on the board.
This has all the ingredients for an absolutely disgusting AFC North football game.
17-13.
20-16.
Hell, maybe 13-10.
Punts.
Sacks.
Field goals.
Three-yard runs on 2nd-and-9.
BEAUTIFUL.
BEST BET: UNDER 38.5
2. DESHAUN WATSON OVER 28.5 RUSHING YARDS
Normally, betting a quarterback rushing over because his offensive line is missing pieces sounds insane.
Tonight?
That's exactly why I like it.
Watson has rushed for:
38 yards.
22 yards.
45 yards.
More importantly, his rushing attempts have increased every week:
6 → 7 → 11.
That's the trend I'm interested in.
Because when Watson feels pressure, his natural response isn't always to stand in the pocket and wait for something to develop.
It's to GO.
And Pittsburgh should give him plenty of reasons to go tonight.
The Steelers have already generated eight sacks and 17 quarterback hits.
Now Cleveland has to protect Watson with a compromised interior offensive line.
There should be multiple opportunities where Watson drops back, feels the pocket collapse and takes off.
I don't need designed quarterback runs.
I need chaos.
And Pittsburgh's defensive front should create plenty of it.
BEST BET: DESHAUN WATSON OVER 28.5 RUSHING YARDS
3. DENZEL BOSTON OVER 37.5 RECEIVING YARDS
This might be my favorite player prop on the board.
Boston's receiving totals through three weeks:
59 yards.
95 yards.
41 yards.
Three games.
Three overs.
And he's playing between 89% and 93% of Cleveland's offensive snaps.
Now Tylan Wallace is out.
That further solidifies Boston's role in the passing game.
And yet?
We're still getting 37.5 yards.
I'll take it.
If Cleveland falls behind the chains because of sacks or struggles to consistently run the football, Watson is eventually going to have to throw.
Boston doesn't need eight catches and 100 yards.
Give me four catches.
Give me 40-something yards.
Cash the ticket.
BEST BET: DENZEL BOSTON OVER 37.5 RECEIVING YARDS
4. QUINSHON JUDKINS UNDER 55.5 RUSHING YARDS
This one ties directly back into our game thesis.
If Cleveland can't control the line of scrimmage?
They're not running the football consistently.
Judkins went for just:
33 yards.
21 yards.
Before finally breaking through with 70 yards last week.
Now he gets Pittsburgh.
With Cleveland missing critical pieces up front.
The Browns were already struggling to consistently generate rushing production before tonight's matchup.
And if Pittsburgh gets ahead?
Even better.
That potentially forces Cleveland away from the run and puts the game directly into Watson's hands.
Which also helps our Watson rushing over.
See how this is all connected?
BEST BET: QUINSHON JUDKINS UNDER 55.5 RUSHING YARDS
5. HAROLD FANNIN JR. OVER 40.5 RECEIVING YARDS
Here's another bet that benefits from Cleveland's offensive-line situation.
Fannin's targets have gone:
3 → 6 → 9.
His receiving totals over the last two weeks:
54 yards.
51 yards.
That's exactly the type of progression I want to see.
And against a pass rush like Pittsburgh's, Cleveland probably isn't going to have the luxury of dialing up slow-developing concepts all night.
The ball has to come out.
Quick.
And that's where the tight end becomes Watson's best friend.
Screens.
Checkdowns.
Quick routes over the middle.
Anything that allows Watson to get the football out before Watt, Highsmith and company arrive.
Fannin doesn't need to dominate the game.
Five catches for 45 yards gets us home.
BEST BET: HAROLD FANNIN JR. OVER 40.5 RECEIVING YARDS
THE IMPORTANT WARNING
Here's where I'm going to talk you out of blindly betting everything I just gave you.
Because these aren't really five independent bets.
THIS IS ONE BET IN FIVE PIECES.
Every angle is built around the same assumption:
Cleveland's offensive line gets its ass kicked.
If that happens?
The under looks great.
Watson scrambles.
Judkins struggles.
Cleveland relies on quick passes.
Boston and Fannin accumulate receiving yards.
Everything works together.
But there's another side to that.
If Cleveland's offensive line somehow holds up?
We could lose several of these at once.
Watson doesn't have to scramble.
Judkins finds running lanes.
The offense sustains drives.
The game opens up.
Suddenly our entire thesis falls apart.
So don't treat this like five unrelated positions and bet five times your normal unit.
Size the entire group like one position.
That's important.
THE BET I PASSED ON
JAYLEN WARREN UNDER 75.5 RUSHING YARDS
This one almost got me.
On paper?
I wanted the under.
Badly.
Warren's 2025 median was just 57 rushing yards, and he cleared 75.5 in only 12% of his games.
Then you look at the number after his 127-yard performance and think:
Classic overreaction.
Except there's a problem.
His snap share:
37% → 71% → 90%.
That's not noise.
That's a role change.
And with Rico Dowdle out, Warren has become the Steelers' backfield.
So yes, the sportsbook moved the number roughly 10 yards after his breakout performance.
But I'm not convinced they're simply chasing last week's box score.
They're adjusting to his workload.
There's a huge difference.
Sometimes the best bet you make is the one you don't make.
I'm staying away.
HOW I SEE THE GAME PLAYING OUT
Don't expect fireworks.
Cleveland wants to keep this thing ugly.
Pittsburgh probably doesn't mind.
The Browns try to establish Judkins early, but Pittsburgh's defensive front makes that difficult.
Then come the long-yardage situations.
That's where the game changes.
Watson gets pressured.
He scrambles.
He dumps the football underneath.
Fannin gets involved.
Boston picks up enough intermediate catches to clear his number.
But Cleveland struggles to consistently finish drives.
Pittsburgh doesn't exactly light up the scoreboard either.
Aaron Rodgers makes a few throws when he needs to.
Jaylen Warren gets fed.
The Steelers defense creates one game-changing mistake.
And Pittsburgh walks out of Cleveland with the ugliest win you'll see all week.
Which, for an AFC North Thursday night game...
Feels about right.
FINAL SCORE
STEELERS 20, BROWNS 13
PICK: STEELERS -2.5
